Data source
Processed source data in a way that allows analysis in reporting tools. The reporting structure takes the form of the Star Model – The Star Model is a data organization scheme used in data warehouse design. In this model, data is organized around one central fact table (e.g., Sales, Inventory) that contains key business metrics and events. The fact table is linked to multiple dimension tables using foreign keys. The dimension tables contain detailed information describing the attributes associated with the data in the fact table (e.g. Product, Customer, Calendar). The star model is used to facilitate analysis and understanding of data, allowing quick queries and aggregations based on different dimensions. Its structure resembles a star, hence the name.
